Here are some additional details about what will happen.
As we move to the new, enhanced solution there will be a Transition Period, during which you will not be able to access your account. See the timeline tab for the exact dates of the transition period for your account.
Before the transition begins, we recommend that you print any statements that are important to you should you need to reference them during the transition period.
Here is what you can expect during this transition period:
Beginning on June 15, 2024, online access will be available on the benefits website. Your coverage(s) will be visible along with a note about the transition period for your balance(s). All tools and resources, including your balance(s), will be available for you to use. If enrolled in the VEBA plan, you can submit your VEBA reimbursement claims online if you are vested in the DTE Supplemental Retiree Benefit Plan (VEBA) and no longer employed.
The Smart-Choice Mobile app will be available for download beginning on June 15, 2024. To download, visit the Apple App store or Google Play store. You will need to register as a new user by creating a new ID and password that is specific for the mobile app. Once you have accessed the application, your credentials will be saved and can be accessed with Touch/Face ID. The “Reimburse Me” mobile app will no longer be available after May 31, 2024.
Your balance(s) will be transferred to your account after the transition period.
Claims for reimbursement cannot be submitted during the transition period. If you need to pay for an eligible expense during the transition period, you will need to pay out of pocket and submit a claim after the transition period ends. Visit your benefits website prior to the transition to view your specific deadlines. If enrolled in the VEBA plan, you can submit your VEBA reimbursement claims online if you are vested in the DTE Supplemental Retiree Benefit Plan (VEBA) and no longer employed.

- When is the transition happening?

- How will my account be affected by this transition?

- Can I keep using the Reimburse Me app?
The Reimburse Me app will no longer be available after May 31, 2024. Your account will be transferred to the new Smart-Choice Mobile app, which will be available for download beginning on June 15, 2024.
- What do I need to do after the transition occurs?
After the transition period, there are three tasks you will want to complete.
- Download the Smart-Choice Mobile app for easy, on-the-go access to your account.
- Sign up for direct deposit, if you haven't already. If you have received payments at your direct deposit account on file in the past year, that information will transfer to the new site, but if you want to make changes to your current direct deposit details or sign up for the first time, you will need to do so on the website.
- Establish your communication preferences and set your preferred methods for receiving ongoing account messages.
- Will my recurring claim(s) transfer to Smart-Choice?
No. If you had a prior recurring claim with YSA, you will need to resubmit that claim to Smart-Choice upon conversion.
